The 5 checks we use

One subject. You can name it in one word, at 150 px.
A face, or something with eyes. Faces stop the scroll. Big expression beats small detail.
Still clear in black and white. If the subject melts into the background with color off, the contrast is too low.
No small text. If there's text, 1 to 3 words you can read at 100 px. Squint to check.
Nothing your game doesn't have. Players who don't find what the thumbnail promised leave in the first minute, and Roblox now weighs that when it recommends games (Roblox, June 2026).
